Lush, low-maintenance gardens. Designed & installed for your balcony.
Have you moved into a beautiful apartment, but the balcony still feels unfinished?

You’ve made the inside yours. Do you want to make outside feel just as complete?

We create lush, beautiful balcony gardens that feel like a natural extension of your home. We know they need to be easy to care for — after all, you didn’t move into an apartment to take on more work.
To start the process of working together, we offer a complimentary Initial Consultation where we begin exploring the possibilities of your space.

1,000+ Balcony Plants Planted
In the past 15 years, we’ve planted more than 30,000 plants — including over 1,000 balcony plants in the last three months.
Because we’re confident in our plant selection and installation, every garden we install comes with a 1-year dead plant replacement guarantee.
If something doesn’t thrive, we’ll replace it — simple as that.

“Lach did a fantastic job on the green roof for our shipping container office. He put real thought into the planting, the research into suitable native species was thorough and well considered.”

Built by Specialists
Creating a balcony garden is technically challenging.
When designing a balcony garden, you need to consider weight, drainage, wind, adequate plant selection, irrigation & lighting. These functional considerations need to integrate seamlessly with the desired feeling of the space. When everything is balanced right, the resulting outcome is a garden that feels like it was built with the apartment, rather than as an afterthought. Organised, effortless and beautiful.
Beyond the technical challenges your balcony garden needs to work really well without feeling cluttered. It should create something beautiful in the foreground without obstructing attractive views in the background and it needs to support your real use of the space.

Some balconies are too exposed to wind to be comfortable for outdoor use, so they’re best designed to be enjoyed visually from inside the home. Other balconies are more well protected and create wonderful conditions for outdoor seating: morning coffee and reading on the balcony. An evening drink. In both cases, your lifestyle is enriched by the quiet presence of plants.
Whatever the case for your balcony, the design process starts with listening closely to your desire for the space & observation of the prevailing conditions.

For regular travellers.
One of the main reasons our clients live in apartments is to make extended travel easy. Your garden will enhance your life while you're home. When you're away, an automatic irrigation system can keep your plants healthy.

For an added layer of certainty, some of our client's opt for our garden steward service. This involves regular apartment visits to water both your balcony garden and any indoor plants you have so you don't have to leave this task to a (potentially unreliable) friend or family member.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can my balcony handle the weight of a garden?
Balconies in the ACT built after 2002 follow strict national standards (AS/NZS 1170.1:2002) that ensure safe load capacity. As part of our process, a structural engineer reviews every design to confirm your balcony can safely support the planter system.
What if my balcony doesn't get much sun?
There are heaps of plants that thrive in low-light—like ferns, mosses, and shade-tolerant species—creating a lush, serene feel even on the southern side.
How does drainage work?
Our planters are designed to drain freely, directing water into your balcony’s existing drainage system.
How do you get everything onto the balcony?
We've spent the last year developing a modular planter system to make it possible to make gardens of any size while restricted by the internal dimensions of doorways and lifts. Using purpose-built trolleys to move materials from our delivery vehicle onto your balcony. Your floors, walls, and furnishings — and all common areas — are fully protected. We also coordinate with your building manager to ensure a smooth, respectful delivery.
What kind of plants will I get?
Your garden will be uniquely designed for you, based on your balcony’s light, wind and microclimate, as well as your preferences. Every plant is chosen for beauty, resilience and atmosphere.
What about strata approval?
Every strata is different. We’ll guide you through the process and, if needed, provide supporting documentation to help secure approval with minimal fuss.
How much does it cost?
This will depend on the design we develop together. For a guide, our installations start at $1,100/m2 with minimum project budgets beginning at $12k. We’ll walk you through options and provide a detailed proposal before anything is confirmed.
How long does it take?
From our first meeting to a completed design usually takes about 2 weeks. Installation typically begins 4–6 weeks after that. Most installs are completed in 2–3 days, with minimal disruption to your home and building.
My balcony is small. Can I still have a garden?
Absolutely. Our planters are modular. They start from just 60cm x 1.2m (and can scale to fit huge balconies) — elegant, integrated, and scaled to suit your space.
